Special Keyrings

Proving that Squarah has many tricks up her sleeve, this next one was a special request from the gloriously listy ShareMyPlaylists.com. They were looking for something a bit different for a keyring and thought we might be able to help after producing the WORLD of merch for them.
Oh they were right!!

This here keyring is custom milled from 4.5mm gauge red acrylic to give an embossed finish that wont ever rub off (unless you take a linisher to the poor thing...)and gets better looking with scratches and age.

Here's the prototype on my keys just for size reference:

Totally pleased with the way these came out. For further customisation, the recessed design could be infilled by hand for some extra colour or texture - if anyone wants to let me have a bit play and make them something really unique - get in touch!

DADS are AWESOME

Christ, it's been a while since I posted stuff on here, so I'm going to go for a retrospective over the next few posts...

::GREETINGS FROM THE RAD FACTORY ON THIS ONE OF THE LAST DAYS OF THE YEAR::

Recently Chris from Get Into It Records got in touch regarding having some double pocketed CD sleeves made just for Dads, this brilliant band all the way from New Jersey in America! This here pressing is for a UK only release y'see, you can pikc one up from this here shoppy --> Get Into The Cartel

So this was quite a feat, we've got a 3 colour print with some tight registration. The sleeves were custom cuts from 350gsm recycled (of course) cardstock. Artwork provided by creative shui master Lee Keith Innes. 1st print was the blackground.

2nd layer went down a treat, as the black provided a great primer for the overlay. Check out the tiny detal on the logo. Perfect.

3rd layer, lighter grey than the 2nd, brought out the majority of small lettering and tooth detail. TOUGH.

These nets were hung like bats to dry then hand folded and fixed to form the final wallet. Totally smart and well worth the effort.

DIY isn't about photocopying and poor stapling - its about doing the best you can with what you've got available to you. This is what I get done on a good day :D CD cases are becoming a speciality, get in touch if you fancy doing something similar.

The Squarah Factory

It's still being painted but it is official - Squarah now lives in the Biscuit Factory Studios!!

I'll be posting updates of the moving in, the getting settled and the building of a custom made screen printing carousel over the next few days.

Love Your Larder

Love Your Larder is an amazing website devoted to a plethora of culinary delights = just the sort of thing I love, but need to treat a cautionary eye on the tightness of my pants. Summers coming up, and girl can live on chutney alone, no matter how hard she tries. Tristan is the gent behind it all. He's a great guy, really interested and open to ideas. He's exhibiting at the Real Food Festival dowin at Earls Court soon, and needed some classy treats to display his brand. I thought this the perfect opportunity to print up some aprons. Tristan went along with it. So I did.

***UPDATE***

Tristan posted this picture of his gear. I thought I'd add it to the post along with my rather crappy phone pictures. If anyone wnats to buy mea new camera, I'd be most grateful

We also made some GORGEOUS tshirts printed up with a distressed version of the logo (make it look old timey innit) I think its got a real chalkboard feel to it, Tristan was super pleased, said it reminded him of classy cool delicatessens.

The print is actually white, however I ony had the camera on my phone to hand.

There were some awesome wee tote bags made too, I've asked Tristan if he would be so kind as to take some photos of the bags in action - so good looking - I'll post when they arrive!!

The best of luck to the Love Your Larder Team for you festival shenanigans. Smack them Lips!

happiest badge time!!

happiest is this dooooooozy of a novel social networking site, built loosey built on the 7 habits toward enlightenment (google 'Bojjhanga' - get wise innit) Beta goes live at the end of may, why not hop on over , you can send a beta request while you're on.

Harry and Joy are the mascots of happiest. Harry helps you round the site, tells you when your browser is a bit crap and is a general all round good guy. Joy is his female counterpart, and a real cutie to boot.

So Bobby (the man with the plan at happiest) wanted some promo badges to make some us for him. I suggested badges, this is what I produced:::

...loads of cute wee button representing Joy, Harry and the happiest logo. They look like gorgeous little sweeties. Jon park did them more justice with his iPhone::

Cach em while you can, I think some are already in San Francisco!!

Nathalie Stern

So Nathalie's pretty damned cool. Pretty as hell and a voice like dark treacle. She's headed out on a solo european tour, and needed the tshirts pronto! Proof that the 3 day turnaround can be achieved! Phew!

Check out her myspace. Fabulous

Witness the Fitness

Are you feeling Lardy??
Has winter took its toll upon your midriff and caused your unmentionables to droop just a little more sullenly than usual?

It might be time for you to get in touch with John at Fit 4 It, he'll whip you into shape faster than you can down a protein shake with extra caffeine and creatine.

I made him some shirts, here they are, lounging around in my (Rorys) drying room, completely unaware of the tight abs they will soon adorn:::

Check out the sessions should you so desire ::: http://www.fit4ittraining.co.uk/

Lifeless

hem lifeless boys are off on a european tour (lucky them!!) but of course, they didn't leave the UK without a batch of Squarah made and designed saleables!

These little doozies feature handrendered illustration inspired by Joe Spicoli of Fast Times at Ridgemont High fame. Sean Penn was once young and overtly tressed. Good lord...

So here it is, still on the press:::

Good times.

All the best of wishes to them smoggy lads on their foreign adventure. Make it loud.
